According to the Nepal Coffee Producers Association, coffee was first introduced in Nepal from Myanmar by one Hira Giri, in 1938.The coffee in Nepal is grown at two different elevations. The Robusta variety grows best at low elevations, found in the Terai. The second major area is in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains,Coffee grows in the mid-hills between 1,000m-1,800m. It is said that higher the altitude the better the aroma of coffee.Coffee cultivation in Nepal is concentrated in specific areas like Gulmi, Palpa, Parbat, Syangja, Kaski, Kavre and Lalitpur districts.

The speciality of coffee in Nepal is its distinct flavour and its strong aroma as it is grown in a high altitude.

Coffee is a growing beverage among the youngsters and the adults too.

 There are various ways to drink coffee .Espresso,Double Espresso,Americano,Macchiato, to name a few .In Nepal tea is the most consumed beverage but Nepalese are slowly inclining towards coffee .
